Deployment goes with the territory in the armed forces, but that doesn’t make dealing with separation any easier. Whether it is the first or twelfth deployment experienced, the upheaval places a strain on everyone involved, the Service person, spouse or partner, children and the wider family.
Here we highlight the support available for all members of the RAF family during a deployment.
The RAF Families Federation – we have pulled together help and advice on our deployment pages to help family members at home.
Storybook Wings – resources are available to help explain what is happening for children. The deployed parent, can even record a bedtime story through Storybook Wings.
Little Troopers – provides resources for children with parents in Service to ease separation and remain bonded, including the Treasures App – take a look at the website.
