RAF People and Families are hosting free to attend summer community events for ‘dispersed’ RAF families living 20 miles from parent Unit.
Living away from the parent unit can bring a new set of challenges for dispersed RAF families. To help develop a community for RAF families that live away from the parent unit, RAF People and Families have secured funding from the Annington Trust to host three summer events.

Free to attend Summer events for families living 20 miles from parent Unit
DEARNE VALLEY, KINGSWOOD – 10th August (10:00 -16:00)
Dearne Valley is an outdoor Activity centre offering a wide range of adventurous activities. The activities on the day will be:
- Zip Wire
- Archery
- Climbing
Suitable for everyone aged 7+. Lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be provided.
IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM, DUXFORD – 24th August (10:00 – 16:00)
From the early days of flight, through to WWII and the technological advances of the Cold War, IWM Duxford has played a central role in 20th-century history. Spend the day exploring every hangar and exhibition – there is something for everyone.
Lunch and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
COMMUNITY FUN DAY, GLOUCESTERSHIRE – 22nd September (11:00 – 14:00)
‘End of Summer’ Community Fun Day for RAF personnel and their families living in/around Gloucestershire. Those attending can enjoy street food, refreshments and activities for all ages.
