Defence Statistics have launched a Long Term Relationship survey, providing partners of serving RAF personnel the opportunity to have a say.
What is the Long-term Relationship Survey?
The long-term relationship survey gives partners of serving RAF personnel the opportunity to provide feedback on what they like and dislike about RAF family life. This pilot survey will explore whether those in a long-term relationship with RAF personnel can be included in the FAMCAS in future. We, therefore, highly value the input from your partner.
Who should complete the RAF Long-term Relationship Survey?
The long-term relationship survey is aimed at those who are in an established relationship with or engaged to a trained Regular in the RAF. This includes dual-serving couples. The sample is stratified by rank group to ensure the results are representative of the entire RAF population.
How can my partner take part?
The survey is online and available to the partners of invited personnel to take part. For dual-serving couples, both of you are welcome to complete the survey.
Invited Service personnel will receive an email invitation at their @mod.gov.uk email address with a link to the online survey and instructions for taking part; this should be forwarded to their partner. To check whether you are able to participate in the survey please use the eligibility tool (this can be slow to open).
Please note: To control access to the survey, participants are required to insert their partner’s Service number (referred to a the token/access code) in order to access the survey. Responses are not linked to Service personnel in any way.
When is the survey deadline?
The survey is open NOW and will remain open until 3rd Feb 2025. The deadline may be extended if response rates are low.
Reasons to take part
The Families Continuous Attitudes Survey (FAMCAS) currently only captures data from people who are married, or in a civil partnership with Service personnel, and does not include those in an established relationship. The Families Continuous Attitudes Survey provides families with an avenue to communicate directly with the senior leadership who are in a position to change military policy. This pilot survey will explore whether those in a long-term relationship with RAF personnel can be included in the FAMCAS in future. We, therefore, highly value the input from your partner.
