The UK Home Office has announced increases to visa and citizenship fees to address rising administrative costs, effective from 9 April 2025.
There are increases across various categories which impacting most applications, and notably for UK Armed Forces family members applying for a visit visa, settlement or citizenship.
Under the new fee structure, the cost of a standard visit visa (6 month) will increase from £115 to £127, marking a significant rise of 10%. This visa allows overseas family members and friends of UK residents to visit for short stays.
Furthermore, fees for indefinite leave to remain and British citizenship applications for family members of Armed Forces personnel will also see a substantial increase. The current fee of £2,389 for ILR will rise to £2,404, while the citizenship application fee will increase from £1,330 to £1,350.
