Military wife creates a tribute to the incredible spouses who support their families, and create community while navigating the challenges of military life.

As Bianca Robbins (aka Talula Grey) approaches the end of her 15 years as a military wife, with her husband set to retire next year after nearly 30 years of service, she has created a heartfelt Christmas advert celebrating the strength and dedication of military spouses. The project, which Bianca conceptualised, scripted, and edited, brings together the voices of military spouses from across the globe, showcasing the vital role they play within military families.

Christmas message from Strength Behind the Uniform

Bianca’s background in children’s mental health has given her significant insight into the challenges faced by military families. Over the years, she has worked closely with organisations such as the Royal British Legion and the Veterans’ Foundation, securing funding to support military families and advocating for their needs.

Bianca explains:

“It’s always been important to me to give military spouses a voice. This advert was a way to highlight their contributions and to celebrate the community that has been a huge part of my life.”

The wives featured in the advert were recruited through a call Bianca put out on social media support groups. The response was overwhelming, bringing together women stationed in diverse locations, including Cyprus, the Middle East, and Turkey.

Bianca said:

“It was an absolute joy to work with these lovely ladies. They came together from different parts of the world to share their experiences and stories.”

In addition to highlighting their voices, Bianca wanted to shine a spotlight on the incredible work many of these women are doing.

“A lot of the wives featured in the advert have their own social media channels, businesses, or side hustles. Holding down a job in this lifestyle can be challenging, so it’s crucial that we support and celebrate each other’s efforts.”

The advert is now available to view on social media platforms, and Bianca hopes it will resonate not only with military families but with wider audiences who may not fully understand the realities of military life.
