Audi image illustrating Financial Leasing Authority protocol

The RAF Families Federation team often get personnel asking us for help when they are posted abroad and can’t take their leased car with them. It’s one of the things we talk to recruits at Halton about, so they can be aware of the issues. We have had many successes working with individual car sales firms, and asking them to give SP a dispensation for their service – and this additional agreement is good news as it should support our work! Thanks to the MOD Covenant team, and the industry organisations involved…

Financial Leasing Authority, with National Franchised Dealers Association, released new protocol to provide bespoke support to armed forces personnel deploying overseas.

The Financial Leasing Authority (FLA ), together with the National Franchised Dealers Association, has formally published its motor finance protocol which was developed in conjunction with the MOD Covenant team. The protocol offers tailored support to armed forces personnel deploying overseas, in an effort to remove the disadvantages frequently experienced by personnel who have a motor finance policy.  For more information visit the FLA’s website at this link: Motor Finance solution for deployed service personnel

It is essential that any personnel taking out lease-hire must ensure they make clear at the outset of the process they are a member of the Armed Forces, to ensure this protocol applies. This protocol will only be followed by providers that are members of the FLA.

If you need to contact the RAF Families Federation you can log an issue online in the first instance and a member of the team will come back to you.
