Many families will feel added pressures during the Coronavirus pandemic. Here we remind you of the services available to you, the RAF family, from the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF).

Modern family life can be stressful when we aren’t in a pandemic, balancing work, home life and caring responsibilities can sometimes take its toll. The RAFBF provides a range of services for RAF Serving personnel (Regular and Reserves) and their families for when life becomes challenging.

Here is a reminder of the services available to you;

  • up to six relationship counselling sessions with Relate for Serving personnel and their partners. The service is completely confidential. To access live chat or to find out more visit the Relate website or call 0845 077 5556 and a trained counsellor will be able to talk you through the available options
  • access to Headspace for free for all RAF personnel and their partners. Headspace is a ‘gym membership for the mind’ providing access to guided mindfulness exercises, delivered straight to your phone or browser, in bite-sized 10-minute sessions – perfect for busy schedules
  • a Listening and Counselling Service available to RAF personnel and their partners. Support is available for a range of difficulties, including: anxiety and/or depression, bereavement and loneliness and isolation
  • a Children and Young Persons Counselling Service available for children and young people aged 11 to 18 and offers support on a range of wellbeing and mental health issues such as anxiety, behavioural issues, bullying and academic pressure
