Are you creative? Want to see your designs reach people around the world? This year the RAF Families Federation want to celebrate creativity by hosting our first ‘Christmas Card Design Competition’. Deadline for entries – 12th November 2021.

Each year the RAF FF send out cards to hundreds of people around the world to celebrate the holiday season. This year we are giving you the chance to have your designs featured.

Whether you are a novice or professional, this contest is open to everyone.

How to Enter

To enter please send your Christmas themed designs/photographs to [email protected] along with your; name, age, category and link to the RAF.

Please include a short couple of lines sharing the story behind your chosen picture to bring your creation to life. This story line will be printed inside the Christmas card for recipients to enjoy.

If you have any issues sending your artwork/images to the above email then please submit your entry via WeTransfer to the above email (we do not accept Dropbox or other forms of ‘transfer’ site due to our firewall settings).

Entries closes on Friday 12th November 2021.


The ‘Top 3’ photographs will be shared across the RAF FF social accounts and appear in a news story on the, RAF FF Website

The winners (child, teen and adult) designs will appear as Christmas card front covers. Winners will also each receive a RAF FF goodie bag.


To keep this competition fair we have broken things down into a few categories.


This year we will be hosting a children’s and an adults Christmas card competition.

Children – Under 11

Teen – 11-15

Adults – 16+

How Does it Work?

The RAF Families Federation will vote on the ‘Top 3’ photographs of all categories.

The ‘Top 3’ for each age bracket will then be posted across socials (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) on the 12th November 2021 to begin voting.

Voting will be open from the 12th November until the 19th November 2021.

The winner for each age group will be determined by the ‘like’ count (from all socials added together).

The two winners will then be contacted and announced on the 1st December 2021.

Terms and Conditions

This competition is open to Serving personnel and their families in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Please ensure photographs/designs are your own and that they are copyright free.

One entry per person.

If you place 1st, 2nd or 3rd you will be asked to sign a ‘general release form’ so that we may use your designs across our socials.

Entries close Friday 12th November 2021.
