During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government made changes to legislation to further protect renters. Landlords must now give tenants six months’ notice before they can evict until March 2021.
If you are a landlord looking to ask your tenants to leave during the current pandemic, please be aware of these changes. Remember to factor this into your calculations if you intend to move back in on a specific date – this is particularly important for families overseas who are planning to reoccupy their home on their return to the UK.
This will impact quite a few of you as Service personnel returning from overseas and looking to re-enter your property. You will now need to factor a six month notice period in.
