Praise-along Music are launching a brand new song ‘seeds of Sunshine’ to celebrate the Month of the Military Child this April.
The song was inspired by the life experiences of children and young people who are members of the Service Children’s Community Choir CIC which is based in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire.
The choir was formed by Angela Campbell and Beki Bulmer as a way to support children from armed forces families. It consists of members aged 5-16 years old and the choir recently appeared on the BBC performing at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2024.
Following on from an initial creative workshop with song-writer Kelly Fort from Praise-along music in June 2024, Kelly was inspired by their unique experiences and journeys to write ‘Seeds of Sunshine’. The choir recorded the song in February 2025 and have since performed it for the first time at The Alnwick Garden last weekend.
The song is due to be released at 12pm on 1st April across various music streaming services including Amazon, iTunes, Spotify and YouTube. It will also be shared with over 600 schools across the UK as part of a Praise-along ‘Month of the Military Child assembly pack’ with a fabulous lyric video.
‘Seeds of Sunshine’ is a song that won’t just resonate with children from armed forces families, it is for anyone who is making a transition, anyone who has to brave and build friendships and discover new places. It is a positive and uplifting piece of music.
Fifty percent of all proceeds made (from the song /”Seeds of Sunshine”) this April will be donated to the Service Children’s Community Choir CIC and used to support more children from military families.
