Members of RAF Coningsby’s Airplay group have won a £500 prize with their film showing why Airplay matters to them.
The youngsters were tasked with producing a film which showcases the Fund’s flagship youth service and celebrates the children who enjoy it. The standard was high with some very inventive ideas but RAF Coningsby won through for their creative film. RAF Scampton came a close second.
One of the judges, PR Manager Rebekah Sharrock, said:
“The Airplay youth support scheme is a fantastic project, giving children growing up on RAF stations a safe space to socialise with their peers.
“It was great to see some of the activities our Airplay members get up to at their youth club sessions and hear from the young people themselves why they love Airplay. Congratulations Coningsby!”
Airplay operates on 27 RAF stations offering fun sessions for eight to 18-year-olds. The Fund also runs Ben Club, for younger members of the RAF Family, aged between five and eight. To find your nearest Airplay youth group visit the youth support information page.
