Former RAF Officer and Mumpreneur, Hannah Saunders, has received a prestigious accolade at this year’s Heropreneur Awards. The founder of Toddle Born Wild was named Start-up of the Year for her business providing natural, vegan skincare products for families who love the outdoors.

The annual awards shines a spotlight on the achievements of former Armed Forces personnel who have started their own businesses and celebrates the energy and dedication of veterans who are forging a new path in business. Finalists were presented with their awards by The Countess of Wessex at a high-profile ceremony at Plaisterers’ Hall in London

Hannah Saunders founded Toddle Born Wild after recognising that there weren’t the products to protect her son’s sensitive skin when outside. Passionate about living life to the full; Hannah was keen for her family to join her on outdoor adventures but wanted to protect and nourish her children’s skin without using harsh chemicals.

After nine years in the Armed Forces, Hannah left in 2017 to concentrate on the business full-time. Following two years of research and development with Glyndwr University and a successful Kickstarter campaign, Toddle Born Wild was launched offering 100% vegan, natural skincare products for children of outdoor-loving parents. The business, based in Wrexham, has significantly grown over the past year with a loyal customer-base of families passionate about the Toddle Born Wild products.

Hannah Saunders, founder of Toddle Born Wild, said:

“It was a huge honour to be awarded Start-up of the Year  at the Heropreneur Awards. I am incredibly proud of my career in the Armed Forces and it was wonderful to recognised for my achievements since launching Toddle Born Wild alongside other former military personnel who have become entrepreneurs.

“I’ve always loved the outdoors and when I became a Mum I was keen for my children to have my sense of adventure but found there wasn’t the products to protect my son’s sensitive skin. The products I developed for Toddle Born Wild are all natural and 100% vegan; ensuring that families can enjoy spending time together outdoors whilst being protected from the elements.”
